My favourite dish

Hello everyone, Dante here!

I know you have waited a long time for it, but here it is: my first recipe! I chose Galette Bretonne as the first recipe. Not only because it is so tasty, but also because it is so easy to make and it is also verry healthy. But those are not the only reasons that I have chosen this dish. The biggest reason why I like to go on vacation is because I can taste and get to know local products. And Galette Bretonne is one of those dishes that I discovered on holiday in France and made myself a few times when I was back in Belgium. So I have some very good memories of this meal. That’s why I want to share it on this blog, especially for you. I have made a very easy recipe so that there is nothing to stop you from trying this delicious dish yourself! I hope you enjoy it as much as I always do!!

  • Ingredients:
    • For the Crepes dough:
      • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
      • 1/2 cup Buckwheat Flour
      • 1 Egg
      • pinch Salt
      • 1/4 cup Water
    • To fry:
      • 4 Tablespoon Butter (for each crepes one tbs)
    • For the filling:
      • 4 Ham Slices
      • 4 Cheese Slices
      • 4 Eggs
      • pinch Salt
      • pinch Pepper
      • Chives fresh cut, to garnish
  • Recipe:
    1. Mix all the Crepes dough ingredients together to a smooth liquid dough. It has to be more liquid or you won’t be able to spread it well into the hot pan while frying, because you need thin Crepes.
    2. Then heat up your pan, add 1/2 Tablespoon Butter to it. Add nearly 1 ladle of liquid dough to the hot oily pan, spread well by turning the pan quickly and fry both sides until they are a bit golden.
    3. Then add a slice of ham onto the Crepes/Galette and a slice of Cheese.
    4. Continue by breaking the egg into the center of the ham Crepes. Season with Salt, Pepper and add fresh chopped Chives. Carefully close the Crepes by folding in on both sides or all 4 sides so to create a parcel. Cook further until the egg is done.
    5. Serve hot sprinkled with some cut green fresh chives.

Bon appetit!

Hello everyone, Dante here! Because you are reading this, you are probably wondering who I am and why i'm writing this delicious foodblog. Those are two amazing questions! I'm starting to think that it's your lucky day... especially for you i have prepared two amazing answers on your amazing questions! First is first. My name is Dante Debock, but you can call me Dante Dekok. That joke sounded better in Dutch... but no worries, I am still full of tasty jokes! But NO jokes about potatos! I HATE potato puns, I really think they're pomme de terrible! When I'm not cooking or busy with school related things, I'm probably playing ultimate frisbee. (Secretly I'm actually practicing throwing plates for when I later become a show cook.) On Saturday I have guitar lessons so I sometimes practice for that while my delicious creations are in the oven. But that's enough about me, now we're going to talk about this new interesting and delicious food blog! You're probably thinking: why is this legendary cook blogging instead of cooking??! And again I have an answer to this great question: I just want to share my knowledge with the most wonderful person in the world, the one who is reading this! You don't believe me? Well, you got me... I have to make this blog mandatory for my English teacher, but I would like to do this for you! I hope we both learn something from it! See you Soon! Dante Dekok
